KitchenAid Deluxe 4.5 Quart Stand Mixer, Silver (KSM88SL)Quart,

Finally got myself a 5 quart Kitchenaid Stand Mixer!! Kitchen Aid Mixer

when i was getting married i really wanted a brand new kitchenaid mixer in one of their fancy new colors. but i already had one that was handed down to me in perfect working order, so it just didn't make sense to request a new one. i lived with the old standard issue almond color for years until i decided to simply paint it! though i was definitely nervous since i didn't have money laying.

I put painters tape over all the chrome parts then unscrewed the metal place and back cover piece. I wanted to spray paint this in the first place because there are scratch marks (pictures below). The mixer ended up being SUPER dirty…I don't think the previous owner washed it before they shipped it (GROSS!)!

6 Things You Should Know About Your New Stand Mixer Kitchenaid stand

Step 2: Clean the Whole KitchenAid. Next you want to make sure your mixer is completely cleaned of any grime and grease before painting. I wiped the whole mixer down with a baby wipe. You could use a very lightly soapy paper towel too. This just gets the greasier spots off.

Add a clear coat: Let the paint dry and then apply a few coats of the finishing spray gloss enamel for some shine and to protect your paint job. Remove the painter's tape: Once the paint is dry to the touch, remove the painter's tape. Wait at least a few days: This might be one of the most important steps!

Preparing Your Mixer. I began preparing my Kitchen Aid Mixer by t aping off the areas I did not want spray paint to adhere to. However, many of the parts can actually be removed. I.e., the silver band, the attachment knob, middle bowl support hook. You will remove these parts with a Phillips screwdriver and tape the remaining parts with painter.
